World Bach-Fest

The first World Bach Fest takes place in Florence, three days dedicated entirely to Johann Sebastian Bach. This festival was born from Mario Ruffini’s and Ramin Bahrami’s desire and promoted through the social network Facebook, it is a highly innovative event.
The three days will have three main venues in the city, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio and the Cinema Teatro Odeon.

 

250px-Bach Ramin Bahrami is one of the greatest performers of Bach’s music. The festival opens on March 9 at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale with three Concerts directed by Mario Ruffini. Bahrami will also close the festival on March 11 with Variazioni Goldberg (Goldberg Variations) in the Salone dei Cinquecento, accompanied by the narration of Sandro Cappelletto.

In between these two events there is a variety of musical events: Saturday and Sunday in the Salone dei Cinquecento in fact, there will be 48-hour non-stop music featuring soloists, groups and orchestras. There will be a “Night of Cinema” at the Cinema Teatro Odeon on March 10 from 22 pm until 9 am the next morning.

Little conferences on music are scheduled Saturday and Sunday in Palazzo Vecchio.

All events are free admission, subject to availability. Reservations are not possible. However, you should still register at the reception desk to receive your entry badge for the event.

All events can be followed on a big screen in the courtyard of Palazzo Vecchio during all days of the festival.
