Limited Traffic Access Area (ZTL )
Florence city centre, roughly speaking the area within the inner ring road formed by the "viali", is a limited traffic access area, entrance to which is restricted to residents.
Access is garanteed to visitors who need to reach a hotel or a garage where they have a booking; in both cases, all visitors have to do is to give the hotel or garage their car number plate details.
If you have a disabled symbol you can obtain free entrance to the ZTL, even if you don't have any hotel reservation. How to do:

- you can call the free number 800 339891 (Mon. to Friday 8.30 am - 1.00 pm/2.00 pm 4.30 pm - from tel. and mobile)

- or you can send an email to upd@serviziallastrada.it
- or you can send a fax to the n. 0554040253.
The request can be made before or after your first entering  the ZTL (if you enter on Monday, please send the request on Tuesday until h 4.30 pm; if you enter on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, please send the request on the next Monday until h 4.30 pm). In the request please communicate your name, surname, your telephone number, your invalid card number, its expire date and the city or board that released it. You should also communicate the exact date of you first enter the ZTL.

Parking: A few places reserved for the disabled are available in each car park (indicated with the yellow lines on the ground and the special sign board). Please select your car park on the map and the list or visit the website http://www.firenzeparcheggi.it/
Parking is always free of charge: it is free in the spaces reserved for the disabled (yellow lines), but also in the spaces subject to payment (blue lines). The disabled symbol must be displayed in all cases.

Most of the ATAF (the city transport company) buses are equipped with a flat car deck and a space reserved for a wheelchair; for information about timetable and itineraries please visit the website http://www.ataf.net/ (with an English version).


By Taxi
The Taxi company So.Co.Ta. can offer a special 6-seat- van for the disabled, with an electronic platform to board every kind of wheelchair. The special van is available upon request (at least 48 hours in advance) at the normal taxi rates: tel. + 39 055 410133. For further information please visit http://www.socota.it/

The Taxi company Co.Ta.Fi www.4390.it can offer a disabled equipped taxi for no electric wheelchairs, available for tourist tours. This service  must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
