Gardens, parks and villas in Florence

In addition to the immense archaeological and architectural heritage, Florence also possesses botanical and environmental treasures, places for relaxation and recreation, starting from the Boboli Gardens, where art and nature create a perfect union, and not to mention the Bardini Gardens, on the hills near Piazzale Michelangelo, as well as historical gardens such as the Botanical Gardens or dei Semplici, or the vast area of the Cascine, a place for outdoor activities much loved by Florentines.

In the summer months, it is well worth the time to spend a day in the extensive Pratolino Park, just a few kilometres from the city.
The Florentine territory is also studded with villas, palaces, and castles built over the centuries by the most important families, like the Medici who left important residences such as Villa della Petraia and Castello, Cafaggiolo, and Trebbio in the Mugello region, and the Medici villas of Cerreto Guidi and Careggi.

Here are some information about parks with a long history to tell, the ideal place where to spend a few hours with the family.
