The consolidated reputation of the museums and monuments in the city of Florence is accompanied by that of the provincial territory, which is as rich but not as known as the previous one and is characterized by a lot of museums that are different from each other regarding their history, type and management.

Some of them are structured in the so-called decentralized Museum, as it happens in the Mugello territory  organized in a  Mugello and Val di Sieve Museum System; others are linked to huge art collections coming from sacred places and, therefore, specializing in sacred art, such as the five museums of the Chianti Museums circuit.

However, public palaces with a long history are also included, as well as Houses of Memory, villas belonging to noble families and new museums, linked to artisan activities or traditional trades and crafts;  in short, a rich dynamics of properties and facilities to be discovered.
