This year the Empoli Jazz Winter & Spring Festival blows out its 8 candles and celebrates with a programme proposing international artists and new rising talents.


jazz 2017The festival attracts every year hundreds of enthusiasts and is organized by Empoli Jazz in co-production with Music Pool, Network Sonoro, Centro Studi Musicali Ferruccio Busoni.
The Empoli Jazz Winter & Spring Festival 2017 edition starts on February 12th and goes on until May, with six dates shared among the Auditorium in Palazzo Pretorio, the La Perla cinema-theatre and the Excelsior theatre.
Here is the detailed programme:
February 12th - Alessandro Lanzoni 4tet featuring Joe Sanders. A young Italian talent, Lanzoni will perform a set of original compositions and traditional jazz standards.
February 15th - John Scofield 4tet. A famous American artist, he will perform a concert with revisited jazz standards and pieces from his remarkable repertoire.
March 20th - Roberto Pianca 5tet featuring Glenn Zaleski. Pianca will introduce his first recorded work accompanied by the young American pianist and composer.
April 4th - Deborah J. Carter Italian 4tet. the American vocalist is joined on this Italian tour by a trio of Italian musicians.
April 30th - Groove&Move with Pasquale Mirra and Gabriele Mitelli. On this occasion the festival moves to the Medici Villa in Cerreto Guidi for the sixth Unesco Jazz Day.
The Empoli Jazz Winter & Spring Festival will have its grand finale on May 24th at the Excelsior Theatre with Noa & Gil Dor. An extremely refined voice will take to the stage with her teacher, arranger and guitarist, to retrace together a 25-year long career.
