Forte Belvedere opens to the public this 29th of June with the exhibitions of two completely different artists: Massimo Listri and Davide Rivalta.

The famous and panoramic Forte of the Renaissance, which has held for many years shows of contemporary artists, is itself a masterpiece. During summer tourist and locals enjoy the opportunity to visit the building and its garden, a truly magical place.
This year and for the first time, it twill be possible to visit the “Stanza del Tesoro” (or Treasure room) a space that was closed until now.

A perfect day and My land are the exhibitions by Massimo Listri and Davide Rivalta, a photographer and an sculptor respectively.

Massimo Listri, Florentine, is specialized in historic spaces and interiors and has collaborated with Franco Maria Ricci to pay tribute to the most beautiful palaces and the most extraordinary villas. He exhibits 25 photographs in large format.

Davide Rivalta, presents 12 big sculptures in metal and a wall drawing in the four rooms of the basement; he usually installs his sculptures –mainly animals without pedestal- outside in the urban area or in nature, taking into account the art piece and the context. The rhino at the Teatro del Maggio in Florence is part of the exhibition and is the perfect example of what to expect from “My land”.

The ticket costs 3€ and guided visits are also available during the weekend (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning) which include the fortalice, the exhibitions and the “Stanza del Tesoro”, for €3,00 or €1,50 for residents of the city of Florence.

Forte di Belvedere opens from Tuesday to Sunday 11-20

The ticket for Forte Belvedere gives right to enter the Museo Novecento and vice versa.

On the occasion of the exhibition, the FB bus is back: the special ATAF line that connects the Forte with the historic center –passing through Oltrarno, from Piazza Pitti to the entrance of Forte di Belvedere-. The service will be available from 9 July until 20 October. The first bus will be at 10.30 from Piazza Pitti, the last one at 19.35 from Forte di Belvedere (a 20 minute ride).
