| Natural reserve of Gabbianello |
|
The reserve is situated in an interesting landscape amidst broad areas of mixed deciduous and evergreen woodlands, pasture land and areas used for organic farming. The reserve extends over 25 hectares, of which 8 are flooded, in a low-lying area near the lake, and is surrounded by the Tosco-Romagnolo Apennines and the Calvana. During the migratory period, it is possible to observe many species of great ornithological interest, including the white stork, the crane, the wild goose, the black-winged stilt, the bittern, the pink flamingo and even the rare osprey. Bird-watching enthusiasts can observe the wildlife with great ease from four observation points using equipment provided by the reserve. An easy route also makes the reserve accessible to those with handicaps. Find special activities and information on the web site www.gabbianello.it |
