It is a place where olive oil and bread baked in a wooden oven impose their flavours on those of modern-day fast foods, a place which will delight visitors with the traditions of tasty Tuscan dishes, but will also offer many moments to get together and occasions for thought.

The Sagra degli Antichi Sapori di Toscana is organized by the Municipality of Lastra a Signa in collaboration with local charities. It will be taking place in the historic town centre of Lastra a Signa, where visitors will find numerous food stands. Thanks to the contribution of all the shopkeepers in Lastra a Signa, in the nearby streets there will be other events to complete and enrich the fair.

The programme includes meetings on honest practice and the lands confiscated from the mafia, on issues brought up by Don Milani in his ‘Letter to a Teacher’ (45 years after its publication), and the market (on 8th December), ice skating, and concerts of the Corali 2011 festival.

There will also be meetings about olive oil, oil tastings, and the prize-giving ceremony of the Olio d’Oro 2011, a contest dedicated to olive oil.
