The purpose of this event is to encourage visitors to get to know the true culture of games, showing the usefulness of games as educational tools and as a way to socialize, but also the need to preserve and recover the heritage of games, that succeed in overcoming communication barriers created by geographical, linguistic and age differences.

With their direct participation, visitors not only from Tuscany but from the whole of Italy – and in some cases also from abroad – will be playing an active role in the promotion of games for all ages. Moreover, visitors will be able to test, discover and re-discover forgotten games, together with many fabulous novelties.

Tournaments and game demonstrations of all kinds (live ones included), meetings and presentations, guests of the world of games and culture, essayists, authors and publishers will be the beating heart of FirenzeGioca 2011.

Entrance and participation are entirely free of charge.
