Notte Bianca (sleepless night) and May 1st

firenzenotte Many museums and churches and other important venues downtown are open and offer free guided visits. You can choose among the Teatro della Pergola, where its director himself is going to show you the secrets of the old and gorgeous Florence theatre: visits at 11 pm, 0.30 am and 1.30 am.

Free guided visits at the Synagogue and Jewish Museum from 9.30 pm to 0.00 am.

Visits to the top of the Palazzo Vecchio are offered by reservation at the Museo dei Ragazzi all night through until 5.30 am.

You have free entrance to the Museo Bardini from 5 pm to 2 am, free guided visits from 7 to 8.30 pm.

 Many churches and their museums are opened as well: in the Cathedral an organ concert is held and the entrance is allowed until midnight. The Cloister of san Lorenzo is opened from 6 pm to 11 pm.

The Church of Santa Maria Novella and the Museum are opend until 10 pm: free guided visits in the church and in the museum.

The Salvatore Romano Museum near the church of Santo Spirito is opend from 5 pm to 2 am.

And what about music? 

Ath the piazza Santissima Annunziata you find baroque music; music from the same period at the Loggia del Bigallo (piazza Duomo); organ concert in the Cathedral and at the Misericordia di Firenze; music no-stop at the Conservatorio Cherubini,which is  in piazzetta delle Belle Arti.

 Just outside the Uffizi Gallery no-stop jazz music from 10 pm to 3 am.

Live music can be found at the San Pierino arch, via Martelli, piazza Ghiberti, at the Murate.

Some events for children are also scheduled in the late afternoon: look for them at the Innocenti Museum, in Palazzo Vecchio, at the Botanical Gardens (via Micheli), in piazza D'Azeglio.

 Don't use your car, use public transportation: city busses (lines 6, 14, 17, 22, 23, 37 ) will circulate regularly during the night until 6 am.
