| Ruralia, the great country fair in the Park of Pratolino |
|
Visitors will certainly enjoy the exhibition and sale of produce from local farms, but also the so-called Village of Ancient Crafts, which will be presenting artisans at work making baskets, spinning tops and horseshoes, together with potters, stone masons and farmers. There will also be a special seminar for Ruralia’s younger visitors, dedicated to ‘wine taught to children’, which will attempt to answer questions such as ‘why do they plant rose bushes in vineyards?’ or ‘what came first: beer or wine?’. During the two days of Ruralia there will also be oil tastings, a farmers’ market, practical demonstrations of tree pruning and tree climbing, an exhibition of reptiles and one of mushrooms. Ruralia is a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and various works of art – such as the massive statue of the Fountain of the Giant – of the Park of Pratolino, and also to learn something about rural life, the environment and nature. |
