speciale-bambini-img2Children are the top priority of Più Firenze. We are well aware that visiting a city of art or taking a short holiday with the entire family is not such an easy undertaking. And we want to leave our young guests with a good impression.

So what’s in store for you, dear young friends?
First of all, one child under 12 sleeps free in the accommodations participating in the Più Firenze initiative, and if there are two children sleeping in the room with their parents (and if the size of the room permits, naturally), the price becomes that of a triple room. Breakfast is included in the price.
In your room, you’ll find a special kit for organising your visit to the city or the surrounding territory in the best way (help your parents out, because sometimes they’re a bit bungling and aren’t so good at these things), with a T-shirt created just for you – so please wear it during your stay in Florence, weather permitting!
maglinaAt the restaurant, you’ll have the opportunity, if the regular menu seems too complicated with all these names like ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, bruschetta, fettunta, peposo dell’Impruneta, and bistecca alla fiorentina sound really funny but don’t inspire you (but if you taste them, you’ll change your mind!), to have a simple dinner composed of one first course (choose the tomato sauce!), a main course, side dish and water, for just 10 euros. At the restaurant, as well, you’ll find a special gift just for you (we’re not going to tell you, because otherwise it won’t be a surprise).

But that’s not all kids! Palazzo Strozzi is one of the most beautiful buildings in all of Florence and is now showing (until July 18) works of art made by De Chirico, Max Ernst, Magritte and Balthus. If you are under 12 years of age, you can get in for free with your parents when they show their Più Firenze voucher at the gate. Starting on September 24 there will also be a really interesting show called “Bronzino – poet and painter to the court of the de’ Medici family”. Sunday you can get in to see the labs for free with your family, if you are under 12 years of age. Both shows (the exhibits and the free for kids labs) will be open for as long as there are funds available for this special promotion.

i-bike-florenceAre you an active sporty kid? Do you want to do something different for a change? Then don’t miss the bike tour of the city with an English speaking guide (good for those of you who maybe need to practice your English a bit too!) – over streets, squares and neighbourhoods that not everyone gets to see. We will even stop and get a delicious handmade gelato! The tour lasts two hours and runs everyday at 10am and at 3pm. You can buy tickets at the APT tourist information offices on via Cavour or call Florence Town, the organisers of the bike tour, for reservation (+39 tel. 0550123994 www.ibikeflorence.com ). They let kids under the age of 12 come along for free as long as they come with a parent who has a Più Firenze voucher.

05And then, kids, don’t be afraid! Florence is a city full of loads of things to see, many of them have to do with art, which it’s a good idea NOT to set aside, but get to know it and appreciate it. We recommend that you read about everything the city and the surrounding territory offer to our young Florence Art Friends!
Have a lovely holiday!
