Exceptional heritage to discover

In the city of Florence, the concentration of the cultural heritage in a relatively small space – that of the historical centre – is quite astonishing, and includes art, historical monuments, scientific collections, and important sites from the naturalistic point of view.
Including the provincial territory as well, there are some 170 museums, in addition to churches of extraordinary beauty, villas, historical gardens, squares, streets, and antique palaces, so Florence can reasonably be defined as an "open air museum".
This section offers in-depth information for planning your visit to the cultural heritage of Florence. On the left of this page you find a menu with a database enlisting all museums and galleries of Florence and its Province;  click and see the opening hours of the museums, galleries, palaces, and churches; under news and rewiews you find the latest news about our heritage, the museums we suggest to you, and what you should know about the opportunities offered by Firenze Card.

At the museum with no queue

If you are not able to visit Florence during the low season (in November and in January-February) and you would rather not have to contend with long queues and waiting times at the museums, we recommend booking your admission to the State Museums of Florence, especially for visiting the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery.
